Police arrested four people while preparing for the robbery in Chattogram on Tuesday.
They were nabbed in front of Polo Ground High School under Kotwali Police Station in the port city.
The arrested are: Mizanur Rahman Amit, 22, son of late Abdul Jabbar of Battoli Village under Matiranga thana of Khagrachchari District, Ryad alias Riaz, 32, so of Mohammad Idris Ali and hailed from Kutubkhali Village under Banshkhali thana of Chattogram, Shamrat, 35, son of Sagir Ahmed and resident of Alipur Village under Hathazari thana and Amin alias Abdul Amin, 28, son of Kalia Para Village under Teknaf thana of Cox’s Bazar.
Kotwali Police Station Sub-Inspect (SI) Muhammad Musharraf Hossain confirmed the matter.
The SI said, acting on a tip off, they conducted a drive in front of Polo Ground High School and held a group of dacoits were preparing for a robbery.
At that time, we recovered a bold cutter and two sharp knives from their possessions.
