Four language heroes in Moulvibazar honored

The district administration has given a reception to the four language activists of Bayanno language movement in Moulvibazar. They were honored at a function held at the premises of the Central Shaheed Minar at the district headquarters on Monday.

The families of the late Mohammad Ilias, the late Raushan Ara Bachchu, the late Mofiz Ali and Abdul Malik were felicitated at the function.

Moulvibazar-3 constituency Member of Parliament Nesar Ahmed addressed the function as the chief guest while Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan and District Child Affairs Officer Jasim Uddin Masud presided over the progamme. 

Special guest speakers were Superintendent of Police Mohammad Zakaria, Sadar Municipal Mayor Fazlur Rahman, Sadar Upazila Chairman Kamal Hossain, freedom fighter Abdul Mohit Tutu, General Secretary of District Shilpakala Academy Emdadul Haque Mintu and Farhana Wahid (son of language heroes).

Sharmin Jahan, daughter-in-law of language activist Mohammad Elias, Farhana Wahid, daughter of Raushan Ara Bachchu, Nurul Muhaimeen Milton, son of Mofiz Ali and Abu Reza Siddiqui Emon, son of Abdul Malik received certificates, crests and honors on behalf of the four language activists.

Later, people of different professions who came to the Shaheed Minar enjoyed dance, recitation of poems and music performed by the children artists of Shilpakala Academy and Shishu Academy.
