A mobile court sentenced four people to seven days’ imprisonment for gambling at Sadar upazila in Thakurgaon on Sunday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of mobile court led by Sadar UNO Abdullah-al-Mamun raided Thakurgaon road area in Sadar upazila around 5.30 pm on Sunday and arrested the four red-handed while they were gambling at that area.
The convicts are Alal Hossain, 34, Shuvo Ahmed, 38, son of Kohinoor Islam, Abdur Razzak, 28, son of Shamsul Haque hailed from the Sadar upazila of the district and Nur Islam, 26, son of Abdur Rahim hailed from Akcha Hazipara village under the same upazila.
UNO Abdullah-al-Mamun said they were caught red-handed while they were gambling at that area. Our drive against drugs and gambling will continue in the Sadar upazila area, he added.
