Four injured in Sirajdikhan clash

In Munshiganj district’s Sirajdikhan Balurchar Union, two groups clashed over the housing business and the area turned into a battleground. In this clash, 7 people including 4 were injured and a policeman was injured.

The clash took place at Khaskandi Begum Bazar area of Baluchar Union of the upazila at 11 o'clock on Monday. The clash lasted from 11 am to 1 am.

According to the police and locals, there has been a long-standing conflict between Baten Sarkar and Al Islam of Nuja City and people of Dakshina Green City's Suman Mia and Kamizuddin Kamu groups over housing business in the area. As a result of that dispute, the people of Baten government and Al Islam vandalized the establishment of Dakshina Green City around 10 am, and the two groups clashed. Face to face with indigenous weapons, chases and chases took place. At that time, 4 residential houses, 3 police motorcycles and 1 pickup vandalized. 4 people were shot and 7 people including a police constable named Shahinur were injured. The injured are undergoing treatment at Dhaka Mitford Hospital. First aid was given to the injured constable. Police fired 18 rounds of blank fire to bring the situation under control.

Officer-in-charge of Sirajdikhan police station AKM Mizanul Haque confirmed the truth of the incident and said that the clash was mainly centered on the housing business. Some houses were vandalized. One of our police constables was injured. 3 police motorcycles and a pickup vandalized. 

18 rounds of blank ammunition had to be used to calm the situation. At present the situation is calm and more than two hundred teta have been recovered from the scene. Legal action is being prepared.
