The members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) 11 conducted a raid at Madanpur area under Bandar upazila in the district at the early hours. Commanding officer of RAB-11 Lieutenant Colonel Imranullah Sarker briefed the media at his office at Adamzi claimed that four drud peddlers were nabbed with 47,320 pieces Yaba tablets. RAB also recovered 12,700 taka in cash and seized a microbus from their possession.
Arrestees are identified Jamal Hossain, 31, Tanvir Hasan,34, Safiqul Islam, 20, Jamaluddin, 32. Among the four Jamal and Tanvir are the resident of Uzirpur upazila in Barisal district as well as Shafiqul Islam and Jamaluddin are the resident of Cox's bazar district.
RAB demanded that the arrestees apparently admitted in the primary interrogation that day brought narcotics from Cox's bazar and used to sell to drug peddlers in Narayanganj, Dhaka, Narsingdi and Barisal district. Criminal case accusing the arrestees under Narcotics Control Act with Bandar police station in this connection.
