Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained four individuals early Saturday while they were attempting to illegally cross into India through the Jibannagar border in Chuadanga. The arrest took place around 5:30 AM at the Benipur border area of Jibannagar Upazila.
The detainees are: Sourav Guriya (19), son of Subrata Guriya from Chalna village in Kashipur, Narail; Arpita Biswas (20), daughter of Ajay Biswas; Sulta Biswas (58), daughter of Kangali Biswas; and Bishnupad Biswas (68), son of Panchanan Biswas — all from Narail district.
According to police sources, the group was attempting to enter India without passports, assisted by a human trafficker. Members of BGB’s Maheshpur-58 Battalion, under Benipur BOP, intercepted and detained them at the border. Legal action is being taken following the arrests.
