At least four people were killed and one was injured when a pick-up van rammed into a CNG-run autorickshaw on Gorai-Sakhipur regional road at Bashtoil Telipara in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail district on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Lutfur Rahman alias Moijuddin, 40, son of Yusuf Mia, Rahima Begum, 45, wife of Tara Mia, Akash Mia, 30, son of Bidyut Mia and Nazmul Islam, 34, son of Samej Mia of the upazila.
Rezaul Karim, officer-in-charge (OC) of Mirzapur Police Station informed that the accident occurred around 4 pm when the Sakhipur-bound pick-up hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw, leaving four people dead on the spot.
Locals rescured the other injured and took them to Mirzapur Kumudini Hospital.
