Police in a raid arrested four alleged robbers along with robbery equipment from Medulia village at Singair upazila in Manikganj on Wednesday midnight.
Officer-in-Charge of Singair Police Station Md Rakibuzzaman confirmed the matter. He said the robbers were arrested while they were preparing for a robbery.
The arrestees were identified as Mohammad Falu, 38, son of Nuru Khan of Darikanda village in Nawabganj upazila of Dhaka district, Ripon, 38, son of late AH Hai Mridha of Khoajpur village in Madaripur Sadar upazila, Lalon, 36, son of Amir Uddin of Tantrakhola village in Harirampur upazila of Manikganj and Mahidur Shamim (28), son of Sona Mia of Paril Khoyamuri village in Singair upazila of Manikganj district.
Police said the gang has been committing robberies particularly at Singair for a long time. Police also recovered country made various types of robbery equipment from their possession. A hydraulic cutter, a sewing range, three knives and two iron nagchira were recovered from their possession.
ater, the arrested, however, confessed to the police that they were the members of organized bandits syndicate and had been shouldering different criminal cases with different police stations, the OC added.
A case has been filled with Singair police station in this connection.
