Foundation stone of Sheikh Kamal’s mural laid at Tangail

The foundation stone of mural of Bangabandhu Shekhar Mujibur Rahman's eldest son and heroic freedom fighter Captain Shaheed Sheikh Kamal has been set at Tangail. 

Fazlur Rahman Khan Faruk (President, District Awami League) laid the foundation in front of the district stadium on Friday morning on the occasion of Sheikh Kamal's 73rd birth anniversary.

The mural of Sheikh Kamal is being constructed at a cost of around 10 lakh taka under the initiative of Tangail District Sports Association.

Sanwar Hossain (Member of Parliament, Tangail-5 , Sadar), D. Md. Ataul Ghani (Deputy Commissioner), Sarkar Mohammad Kayser (Superin­tendent of Police), SM Sirajul Haque Alamgir (Mayor, Tangail Munici­pality), Khandaker Ashrafu­zzaman Smriti (Senior Joint General Secretary, District Awami League), Nahar Ahmed (Joint General Secretary District Awami League), Jamilur Rahman Miron (Organizing Secretary, District Awami League) and others were present on this ocassion.

Earlier, the Md. Ataul Gonion behalf of the district administration paid respect to the portrait of Sheikh Kamal at the same place along with Fazlur Rahman Khan Faruk (President, District Awami League) and Sanwar Hossain (Member of Parliament). After that, Sarkar Mohammad Kayser (Superintendent of Police), SM Sirajul Haque Alamgir (Mayor, Tangail Municipality), leaders and activists of various affiliated organizations of the party including the district Awami League paid their respects as usual.

Later, a colorful rally was organized by the District Awami League Office including former players and sports organizers.
