Fortis, Police finish first leg with win

Fortis FC and the services team Bangladesh win their respective matches in the first leg of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football held at different venues across the country on Saturday. 

Fortis FC registered their third win against Chittagong Abahani by 2-0 at Shaheed Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj. 

The first- half was dead lock. 

After the interval, Fortis FC pressured on the port city club. At last they became successful in the 77th minutes of the match. Nigerian midfielder Lawal Adesheun pushed the ball into his own net. Gambian forward Omar Sarr scored second goal for Fortis in 82nd minutes of the outing. 

Fortis Fc moved into fifth position in the league table with 12 points from nine matches, while the the port city club placed seventh remained at their previous credit of 10 points for playing the same number of outings Meanwhile, Police came from behind beat Brothers Union (BU) by 4-1 goals held at Muktijuddho Smriti Stadium in Rajshahi. Colombian midfielder Edis Ibarguen’s hat-trick and Shah Quazem Kimane scored one goal for Bangladesh Police FC, Rabby Hossen Rahul netted a lone goal for BU.   

Rahul put BU ahead in the 43th minute, but the services team staged a brilliant fight back when Kimane restored parity at the dying minute of the first- half.

After the interval, Edis Ibarguen scored the second goal for Police in the 52nd minute of the match.

Colombian midfielder became hero again, He scored his second and teams third goal in the 72nd minutes of the encounter. He completed his hat-trick in 79th minutes.      BU, however, tried heart and soul to reduce the margin in the match but could not convert any in the remaining proceeding. 

The day's win saw Bangladesh Police moved into sixth position in the league table with 10 points from nine matches, while the Gopibagh outfit BU remained at the bottom with three points from the same number of matches.
