Awami League leaderand former commissioner and councilor of Ward No 19 of Mymensingh City Corporation (MCC) Liaquat Ali Liaquat, passed away at his residence in Balashpur on Sunday.
The first janaza prayer of the deceased was held at his house after Asr prayers and the 2nd one at Jamia Islamia Charpara, Momenshahi after Magrib prayers. Later, he was buried at Bhatikashar graveyard. Mayor of Mymensingh City Corporation and Metropolitan Awami League President Md Ikramul Haque Titu, President of Mymensingh Chamber of Commerce and Industry and District Awami League Vice President Md Aminul Haque Shamim CIP, General Secretary of Mymensingh Press Club, participated in the janaza.
In a separate statement, Nazrul Islam expressed deep grief and sent condolence messages to the bereaved family members and sought forgiveness for the departed soul.
