Foreign ministry plants saplings of 18 species to mark Mujib Year

The foreign ministry has joined the nation to celebrate ‘Mujib Year’ by planting trees.  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina earlier declared a programme of planting 10 million saplings marking the birth centenary of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. 

As part of the programme, the foreign ministry on Thursday said, 100 saplings of 18 species have been planted under the arrangement of ministry.

Those were planted in the last four days at the premises of the foreign ministry, Foreign Service Academy- Sugandha, state guest houses Padma, Meghna and Jamuna. Foreign minister Dr AK Abdul Momen inaugurated the tree plantation programme with the presence of state minister for foreign affairs Md Shahriar Alam and foreign secretary Masud Bin Momen on July 27.
