Jamalpur Patient Welfare Society has distributed Eid gifts among helpless and poor patients in Jamalpur on Saturday.
Eid gifts were distributed among 50 poor and helpless patients admitted to Jamalpur General Hospital under the initiative of the Patient Welfare Association under the Hospital Social Service Office.
The Eid gifts included food packets with a saree for each female patient and a lungi for male patients. The packet contained one kilogram of fragrant rice, one liter of soybean oil, one kilogram of dal, one kilogram of semai, half a liter of packet milk and 50 grams of raisins. Abul Kalam Azad, Deputy Director of District Social Service Office Raju Ahmed, President of Patient Welfare Association and Assistant Director of Jamalpur General Hospital Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman, Resident Medical Officer Dr. Tariqul Islam, city social service officer Farooq Mia, hospital social service officer and general secretary of the association Sahida Akhter Ankhi, joint general secretary journalist Jahangir Salim, member Zakir Hossain Tara and others. Another report adds: Food items were distributed among the helpless people in Moulvibazar initiated by Bangladesh Army on the occasion of Jamalpur Patient Welfare Society has distributed Eid gifts among helpless and poor patients in Jamalpur on Saturday.the holy month of Ramadan and upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday. Food items include- rice, pulses, flour, soybean oil, sugar, powdered milk, Semai and salt. Brigadier General Mohammad Humayun Kabir of Sylhet Cantonment attended as the chief guest at the programme organised at Kaliprasad High School under Kamalganj Upazila and Victoria High School under Sreemangal Upazila under the initiative of Bangladesh Army's 17th Infantry Division.
At that time, among others, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Tahmid Ahmed of Sylhet Cantonment, Captain Md Abid Hasan Rahat, Kamalganj UNO Joynal Abedin, Rahimpur UP Chairman Iftekhar Ahmed Badrul and Munsibazar UP Chairman Nahid Ahmed Tarafdar. Kali Prasad High School Headmaster and Secondary Teachers Association President Satyendra Kumar Pal and Srimangal Municipality Ward Councilor Masudur Rahman Masud, Victoria High School Assistant Headmaster Abdur Rahman were present on the occasion.
