Food items distributed at remote areas of Bandarban

Food items are being distributed from door to door in the remote areas of Bandarban Hill District. On Wednesday morning, the public representatives and members of Zilla Parishad distributed food items in various parts of the Kuhalong Union of Bandarban. 

Earlier, food items were distributed at Reicha, Golikhola and Kanpara areas of Bandarban Sadar. According to public representatives, 10 kg rice, 1 kg salt, 1 kg potatoes and 1 kg pulses are being provided to each family while maintaining social distance.

The food items were distributed in five unions of Bandarban Sadar on Wednesday. Later, food items will be distributed in 28 more unions. Kasapru and Lakshipad Das, members of the Bandarban Zila Parishad said that during the lockdown, relief are being distributed to the remote areas so that people from the remote areas of Bandarban do not suffer from food problems.

According to the Bandarban Zilla Parishad, the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts has allocated Tk 50 lakh and 200 metric tones of food grains for the supply of food to cope with the spread of corona virus in Bandarban.
