On Thursday night, Chattogram District Bar Association's annual banquet was held at GEC Convention in Chattogram city.
The meeting organized on the occasion of the annual banquet was presided over by the president of the association, freedom fighter Abu Mohammad Hashem, and the general secretary of the association, AHM Ziauddin gave the welcome speech. Five judges of Chattogram were present on the same stage in the banquet. Bangladesh Supreme Court, Appellate Division Justice Borhanuddin was present as the chief guest, High Court Division Justices Md. Habibul Gani, Justice Sheikh Hasan Arif, Justice JBM Hasan, Justice Mahmudul Haque, Attorney General of Bangladesh and Chairman were present as special guests. Bangladesh Bar Council AM Amin Uddin, Chattogram District and Sessions Judge Aziz Ahmad Bhuya, Metropolitan Sessions Judge Dr. Begum Zebunnecha, Bangladesh Bar Council Member ASM Badrul Anwar, Chief Judicial Magistrate Begum Kamrun Nahar Rumi, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Rabiul Alam and others.
Chief Guest Bangladesh Supreme Court Appellate Division Justice Borhanuddin said, Cha District Bar Association was born in 1893 with the great vow of rule of law, justice and providing legal assistance to the people seeking justice by 17 learned lawyers.
It is the second largest bar association in the country today. Chattogram District Bar Association has a glorious tradition and reputation in the struggle to establish democracy, human rights, rule of law, justice, independence and sanctity of judiciary.
Therefore, I respectfully remember all those learned lawyers whose contributions made the society proud and well-established today.
The struggle and leading role of the lawyers of this time in order to establish the rule of law and to realize the rights of the deprived people is well known.
Their strong role in maintaining cordial relations between Bar and Bench is truly commendable.
There are many veteran lawyers in this association, if you follow them, you can establish yourself as a good lawyer by maintaining integrity and ethics in the court arena. Many learned members of this association have played a significant role in the judicial arena.
I wish all the learned members of the association all success and continued progress of the association.

On the occasion, 2 judges working in the Judiciary received the Chief Justice Medal, Metropolitan Sessions Judge Dr Begum Zebunnecha and Senior Assistant Judge Moshammed Reshma Khatun were felicitated. Senior Vice President of Executive Council Mohammad Shafiq Ullah, Vice President Mohammad Aziz Uddin (Haider), Finance Secretary Salahuddin Mansur Chowdhury (RIMU), Library Secretary Zahidul Islam Chowdhury, Information and Technology Secretary Mejbah Uddin (Doyle), Executive Members respectively Tauhidul Bari Chowdhury, ANM Roknuzzaman (Munna), Khorshed Alam, Mostafa Karim, Touhidul Islam, Abdullah-al-Mamun, Bilkis Ara (Mitu), Ainul Kamal, Shyamal Chowdhury, Selina Akhtar and a large number of learned lawyers including the former president and general secretary of the association were present.
At the end of the meeting, the guests were treated to dinner and in the 2nd phase, an interesting cultural program was organized by music artists Deepra and Durjoy and conducted by Culture and Sports Editor Laila Noor. At the end of the event, the raffle draw was completed.
