Five flyovers being built under RCC

Five fly-overs and 19 infrastructures are being constructed under Rajshahi City Corporation. 

The plans of designs of the fly-overs were presented before the Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton in a meeting held at later's office by the consulting firm DPM and SARM Associate Ltd on Monday noon.

Mayor Liton expressed his satisfaction at the progress of the works and directed the consulting firm officials to complete the works as soon as possible. 

The 785 metre long, double lane flyover covering the Shahid Kamaruzzaman square will start at the Shalbagan of the city and will end at the Aloka crossing. Moreover, four more fly-overs will be constructed at the Barnali crossing, Bilsimla Bondhogate, Bahrampur railway crossing and Harogram Natunpara rail crossing areas. 

It was further disclosed in the meeting that an International Standard Sheikh Kamal Convention Centre will also be constructed  under Integrated City Infrastructure Project at Terokhadia area of the city. Vistara Architect Ltd submitted the architectural design of the Convention Centre to RCC Mayor.

The four-storied Convention Centre will hold 12-seats with all modern facilities.

The tender notice for the construction works of the Convention Centre will soon be flouted.

The meeting also discussed the beautification of Bhadra Park under RCC.

The was attended, among others, by Chief Executive Officer of RCC Dr ABM Sharif Uddin, Chief Engineer Shariful Islam, Project Director Nur Islam Tushar, Project Engineering Adviser Ashraful Haque, Project Management Specialist Golam Murshed, DPM Director LM Mostaque and Director(oper) of SARM Assoc Ltd Sheikh Masum Salahuddin.
