Railway Police have arrested five people in connection with the gang rape of teenage girl in train at Kamalapur station.
The girl was gang-raped in the Turag community train standing at Kamalapur railway station in the capital. The incident happened on Friday night. The arrested was identified as Suman (21), Naim (25), Nazmul (25), Anwar (20) and Roman alias Kalu (22).
Railway police is also trying to arrest another fugitive in connection with the gang rape.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhaka Railway Police Station Md. Ferdaus Ahmed Biswas confirmed it.
He said that the girl is hailing from Netrakona district. On Friday night, she arrived at Kamalapur railway station by Haor Express from Netrakona. Later, some youths tricked the girl into a compartment of the Turag Community train on platform 1 of the station. She was gang-raped there and they left her there.
OC Ferdaus Ahmed said,five people involved in the incident have been arrested. We are also trying to arrest fugitive named Imran.
Meanwhile, the victim girl has been taken to the Forensic Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for health examination
