Fish landing station in Ctg underscored

Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram Abul Bashar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman said that there is a need of fish landing station in Chattogram.

The Deputy Commissioner made the assertion at a discussion held on the occasion of National Fisheries Week-2024 on Wednesday. The programme was arranged at the conference room of the Circuit House on Wednesday morning.

The Deputy Commissioner said Bangladesh is on the fifth position in fish production in the world and at the first position in Hilsa production among the 11 countries of the world. He expressed his hope that the fisheries sector will go further with the united efforts of all of us in building a smart Bangladesh.

Deputy Commissioner Abul Bashar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman presided over the programme. Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram Md Tofayel Islam attended the programme as the chief guest. Director of Marine Fisheries Office of Chattogram, Md. Abdus Sattar, and Deputy Director of Department of Fisheries of Chattogram Division, Md. Ahsan Habib Khan, attended the programme as special guests. District Fisheries Officer of Chattogram Sribash Chandra, Assistant Director of Chattogram District Department of Fisheries Shamim Ahmed, Deputy Director of Chattogram District Fish Inspection and Quality Control Farhana Labhli, along with other officers and staffs were present in the programme as well.

Before the discussion, a colorful rally was brought out from the premise of Chattogram Circuit House on the occasion of National Fisheries Week. Three successful fish farmers of Chattogram, Md Jabed Ali, Mohammad Kutub Uddin and Md Gias Uddin were given honourary crest and certificates for their success in fish production. Later, fish fries were released in Bayazid Bostami pond.
