First merit position student’s admission postponed for forgery at RU

Rajshahi University authorities have postponed the admission of a student of ‘C’ unit (Science) in the first year honours courses under the academic session 2019-20 for adopting unfair means.

Professor Dr Akramul Hamid, chief coordinator of C unit  admission test and Dean of Engineering Faculty, confirmed the matter on Thursday to the reporters.

According to the sources, Hasibul Rahman, have took part in the A and C units’ admission tests respectively this year. 

He secured only 20 marks in ‘A’ unit admission test while 54 marks within 60 in multiple choice questions and 26 marks in written examination.

However, on November 6 and 7, the university authorities published results of A and C units’ admission tests.

In reply to a question, Professor Akramul said, “We asked Hasib to attend the viva voce on Thursday, but he did not contact us till now.  We have found inconsistency in his examination papers of those units. So, we have taken decision against him.”

Hasibul Rahman was son of Mizanur Rahman of Bholahat upazila under Chapainawabganj district, have passed in HSC examination this year from Rajshahi New Govt Degree College.
