Fire breaks out in Sreepur spinning mill

A fire broke out of in a spinning mill at Sreepur upazila in Gazipur on Wednesday afternoon. Eight fire service units worked to control the fire. The blaze took place on Wednesday at 2.10pm at the Zamzam Spinning Mill of Abdar village under Sreepur upazila of the district.

Later, the fire came under control after the attempt of eight firefighting units; two firefighting units of Sreepur, two from Gazipur, one from Kaliyakir, Tongi, Baluka and Trishal Fire Services.

UNO of Sreepur Upazila Sheikh Shamsul Arefin, Assistant Commissioner (land) Farjana Yasmin, UP Chairman of Telhati Abdul Baten Sarker, Telhati union land officer Abdul Latif and member of 1No Ward Tariq Hassan Bachhu visited the spot after hearing the news.

Lineman of Zamzam Spinning Mill Mayedul said the fire broke out at noon while we were changing our shift. Later, workers left their workplace in a hurry. Deputy Assistant Director of Gazipur Fire Service, Abdullah Al Mamun said the fire was completely under control after four hours of effort. No one was injured in the fire.
