A devastating fire broke out at accessories manufacturing factory located inside old DEPZ in Savar, which was later doused around 5 hours later. However, no causality was reported in this incident.
The fire took place around on Saturday at the factory that was an accessories manufacturing unit of Paxer Bangladesh Ltd, a readymade garment factory, in Savar, on capital’s outskirts. Abdul Alim, Deputy Director of Fire service and civil defense said two firefighter units rushed to the spot and started operation soon after the fire took place. Later seven more firefighter units from Savar, Dhamrai, and Tongi joined the operation as of its severity.
“The factory fire pump yet to set up there that supposed to do. Later BEPZA authority runs their fire pump to start fire operation following our request”, he said adding that later they douse the fire under control around 11:20 pm on night in a 5 hours effort.
