Field Day on seaweed culture held in Rajshahi

Seaweed harvest field day on an enthusiast’s seaweed farm was held in Rajshahi on Thursday. The prog­ramme was arranged around 11 am in Amsho village of Tanore upazila under sustainable enterprise project (SEP) for sharing experience.

With the conduction of project manager Anwar Hossain, Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation and Ashrai have mutually organised the programme. Tanore municipality mayor Imrul Haque inaugurated the programme as the chief guest while counselor Intaj Molla, SEP-Ashrai documentation officer Syed Tanvir Islam, technical officer Saad Ahmad, environment officer Mohammad Arafat Islam, on the occasion, were present. A spirulina farmer Rakibul Sarkar, 40, who has received a demonstration from SEP project, pointed towards his farm plot in Amsho village where he is harvesting spirulina. Mentioning the spirulina farming as promising shots for enthusiastic entrepreneurs, the farmer said, spirulina is a type of blue-green algae that people can take as a dietary supplement and spirulina is considered a super food due to its excellent nutritional content and health benefits.
