Mentioning that the heroic Freedom Fighters (FFs) will live forever as a part of history, Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Md. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said, "We never expected to get anything, we want to serve the nation. If we believe in this ideology then the nation and Bangladesh will be pure”.

CCC Mayor was speaking as the chief guest at an exchange meeting with the Muktijoddha Sangsad Chattogram City Unit Command at the CCC conference room at Tiger Pass in the city on Sunday.

Mozaffar Ahmed, Commander of Nagar Muktijoddha Sangsad Command presided over the function while Sadhan Chandra Biswas, Assistant Commander conducted the function.  Deputy Commander Md. Shahidul Alam Chowdhury Syed, Akbarshah Thana Md. Nur Uddin on behalf of Thana Commander, Principal Md. Shamsuddin on behalf of Institutional Command, former student leader and heroic freedom fighter Md. Kaikobad, Muktijoddha Sangsad Sontan Command Central Member of Muktijoddha Sangsad Sontan Command Sarwar Alam Moni, Convener of Nagar Muktijoddha Sangsad Command Shahed Murad Saku, Muktijoddha Sontan Abu Shahid Mahmud Rony were present on the occasion. CCC mayor said Bangabandhu liberated the country by reciting the mantra of independence to the sleeping nation.

Those who deny Bangabandhu need to stop the politics of those who do politics in this country forever.  In the politics of the resettled freedom fighters held by Ziaur Rahman, the father of the nation was denied.

In order to prevent this trend from coming back, the present living freedom fighters and the generation of freedom fighters have to play the role of vigilant watchdog.

He said, "We will build a non-communal, democratic and modern state in the ideology of Bangabandhu."  Where all human beings will develop. Bangladesh will be free from hunger and poverty.  The Prime Minister used to give food to people, now he is giving houses to the homeless.  As a result of the initiative of the Prime Minister, not only the freedom fighters but also the people will not be homeless in this country.

The glorious story of the liberation war and the freedom struggle that is spread around in the form of history should enrich the next generation about history.

CCC mayor said plans have been made to build a liberation war complex with a memorial at the proposed Ocean Park next to the Patenga Bay Terminal.
