Freedom Fighters have staged a sit-in demonstration at Faridpur's Bhanga upazila on Monday morning to protest the barbaric attack on freedom fighter Omar Ali Sheikh and his daughter Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer Wahida Khanam.
An hour-long human chain was also held on the road in front of the Upazila Parishad at the initiative of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad, Bhanga Upazila Command demanding a fair trial in this case. Earlier, the freedom fighters came to the Upazila Parishad Complex with a protest procession from the Muktijoddha Complex.
District Freedom Fighter Deputy Commander Nazrul Islam Jamal, Bhanga Upazila Freedom Fighter Commander Abul Bashar Matubbar, Deputy Commander Mahabub Hossain, Md. Abul Hasan Matubbar and Mir Hasmat Ali and other freedom fighters spoke at the time.
The speakers of the programme demanded a proper investigation into the incident and set an example by punishing the attackers.
