A total of 870 farmers in Chitalmari upazila have been provided with chemical fertilizers, wheat, pulse, and oil seeds free of cost, aiming to increase crop production in the Rabi season.
The distribution was conducted from the Upazila Agriculture Office on Thursday morning at 10 AM. Mohammad Sazzad Hossain, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Chairman of the Upazila Agriculture Rehabilitation Implementation Committee, was present as the chief guest during the distribution ceremony.
Agriculturist Mohammad Sifat-Al-Maruf, the Upazila Agriculture Officer and Member Secretary of the committee, informed that under the agricultural rehabilitation program for the 2025-26 fiscal year, these inputs were allocated to marginal and small-scale farmers across 7 unions of the upazila to enhance Rabi season crop output.
The breakdown of the distribution is as follows: 350 farmers received 1 kg of mustard seeds each, 200 farmers received 0.5 kg of mung bean seeds each, 230 farmers received 1 kg of sunflower seeds each, 70 farmers received 8 kg of lentils (Khesari) seeds each, 20 farmers received 20 kg of wheat seeds each, Additionally, every farmer received 10 kg of DAP fertilizer and 10 kg of MOP fertilizer each.
Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer, Agriculturist Mohammad Habibur Rahman, was also present at the seed and fertilizer distribution event.
