A father and his daughter were killed and another was injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Narayanganj highway in Chasara area of the district on Friday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Altab Hossain, 40, and his daughter Bailey Akhter, 20, residents of Shambhupura area of Sonargaon in the district.
The accident occurred when a truck hit a rickshaw coming from the opposite direction in the area around 1:30pm, leaving the duo dead on the spot and injuring the rickshaw puller critically, said Mohammad Jahangir, sub-inspector (SI) of Fatullah Model Police Station.
Police seized the killer truck and arrested its driver and helper from the spot, the SI added.
