A collision involving a motorcycle, an easy bike, and a van resulted in the death of a young man and left another seriously injured in Chuadanga on Thursday.
The victim, Shanta Ali (24), lost his life in the accident, while motorcycle driver Rayhan Ali (20) sustained severe injuries.
The incident occurred on Jafarpur Road in Chuadanga Sadar Upazila around 10:30 am on Thursday.
Shanta, hailing from Fulbari village in Shankarchandra Union of Sadar Upazila, was the son of Bakul Ali, whereas the injured Rayhan Ali is the son of Babul Hossain from the same village.
According to sources close to Shanta's family, the duo was en route to Chuadanga from their home on Thursday morning, riding Rayhan's motorcycle.
As they approached Jafarpur Madrasa, a collision ensued involving an easy bike, a van, and their motorcycle.
Both Shanta and Rayhan sustained serious injuries. Subsequently, locals rescued them and rushed them to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital.
Unfortunately, despite efforts, they succumbed to their injuries in the emergency department.
Confirming the incident, Inspector Sekender Ali of Chuadanga Sadar Police Station stated that the collision claimed the life of the motorcycle rider and left another youth injured.
