Monsoon is in full swing and it’s time to update your wardrobe for the rainy season. Let not the rains, however, moisten our spirits and hinder us from missing all of the fun. Monsoon is one more opportunity for fashionistas to display a fashion of statement. Don’t let the rains dampen your sense of style.

The reliable raincoat

Say hello to your BFF of the season, a reliable raincoat. Updated to appeal to the modern woman on-the-go, this childhood favourite just got a stylish makeover. Choose from downright transparent, to lightly lined silhouettes, as you strut through the rains, winds and whatever else comes your way.

Invest in clear raincoats which will steal the spotlight. Well, at least share it with your cute outfit. No need to keep your look hidden under dark jackets because these trendy, transparent cover-ups will let your style shine through.

Peek-a-boo ankles

Trade in classic floor-length denims for shorter counterparts. Even in B-Town, every celebrity is showing off their calves this season, and for good reason. Think culottes, midi skirts, dungarees and even ankle-length trousers as you prep for work. It’s best to wade through unpleasant waters bare-calved.

Turn any trousers inside out, and fold away till the ankles. Use bobby pins to secure the tucks and you’ll have your very own shortened pants.

Refresh your beauty regime

It’s better to substitute heavy makeup with light one. Opt for water resistant or wtaer proof beauty products. If not necessary, better to avoid using foundation and mascara.

Dress Sensibly

Apart from dressing right during rainy spells, you should also dress accordingly. Avoid getting dressed in trousers, jeans, long skirts or Patiala. These will get muddy more easily during rainy season. Instead opt for outfits like knee length skirts, shorts, capris, dresses and short Kurtis with leggings. For men, ankle length trouser would do along with shorts and capris.

Under an umbrella

Gone are the days when umbrellas were used as a mean to protect against rains. Carrying a quirky printed umbrella will make your outfit look vibrant and will surely turn some heads.

If you want to add that extra oomph to a coordinated outfit, opt for colourful umbrella and if that doesn’t catch your fancy, how about a cute graphic, lace or even stripes?

Quirky handbags

Switch your classy leather tote with a funky transparent and neon bag. Waterproofing doesn’t have to be boring, flaunt your goodies with a see through plastic tote and use the cloudy grey sky as a perfect backdrop to flaunt the brightest of colours. Opt for bright and colorful ones to brighten up the gloomy days. Chose a bag that allows for an easy maintenance. Look for bags with water resistant zippers and sliders. Just One swipe of a cloth and you should be done.

Opt for nylon and transparent bags this monsoon. It will keep all your valuables secure and dry. Moreover, it will work well to prep up your style game.

Put your best foot forward

Shoes are style statement itself, so let them do justice to your outfit. The right footwear can quickly make or break your look. So, if you want to look stylish pick bright and funky coloured shoes to create a vibrant monsoon look.

With a hair dryer melt a candle. Then rub it all over your favorite sneakers. Waterproof kicks in under a minute.
