A 70-year-old farmer was trampled to death by a wild elephant in Lohagara Upazila of Chattogram district on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Shaheb Mia, a resident of Adhunagar Shikdarpara.
Rafiqul Islam, upazila forest officer said, it is learnt, a herd of wild elephants entered into the betel leaf farm of Saheb Mia at Bhadulliar Duri in the morning.
Saheb Mia died on the spot being attacked by the wild.
A process is on to provide compensation to the family members of the deceased, said Rafiqul Islam.
