Miscreants torched a burnt substance in the face of a farmer named Sultan Dalal (50) in Kalaroa, Satkhira. The seriously injured farmer was admitted to Satkhira Sadar Hospital. The incident took place on Saturday night in Nachopur village of Kolaroa upazila.
The injured Sultan Dalal is the son of Ali Dalal, a village in Natpur village of Kolaroa upazila.
The injured Sultan Dalal said he was returning home from Madra Bazar. At that time, two people came in with a motorcycle and stopped it. One hits the torchlight on his face and the other fires by throwing combustible material in his face. He fell to the ground with pain. The locals rescued him at Kalaroa Hospital and later admitted to Satkhira Sadar Hospital for advanced treatment.
Dr Mahbub Hossain of Satkhira Sadar Hospital said his face and hands were burned. He said one of his eyes could be wasted.
Kolaroa Police Station Officer-in-Charge Monir-ul-Ghias said, "I have heard the incident in public. No one at the police station complained. He said that necessary action would be taken if the complaint was received.
