Magura Sadar Upazila Agriculture Office distributed agricultural machinery worth Tk 1.30 crore in Magura with 50 per cent Government subsidy.
Sadar Upazila Chairman Bir Muktijoddha Abu Nasir Bablu distributed the agricultural machinery at the premises of Sadar Upazila Agriculture Office on Monday noon as Chief Guest . Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Humayun Kabir was the special guest at the presidency of the District Agriculture Extension Officer Hayat Mahmud.
The speakers said that at one time it was difficult to provide food to 7 crore people. And today, using advanced agriculture and modern technology, farmers are feeding 16 crore people in the country. To encourage modern agriculture to continue this trend of success, the government is providing huge subsidies in this sector.
Akkas Hossain Khan, a disabled farmer from Naliadangi village, said that agriculture is now being evaluated as profitable due to the use of modern materials which have come in agriculture.
Sophisticated devices can be used by people with disabilities as well. He wished the government continued support in this regard.
