Faridpur Free Day observed

Faridpur Free Day was observe on Tuesday. On this day in 1971 (December 17), the Pakistani army surrendered in Faridpur to the freedom fighters although the country became liberated on 16 December. On this occasion, a discusson was held in the Circuit House hallroom on Tuesday morning.

In this discussion the then commander of Banladesh Liberation Forces (BLF) Shah Mohammad Abu Jafar, Zila Parishad Chairman Lokman Hossain Mridha and several other freedom fighters gave speeches.

After hoisting National Flag on the Circuit House premises, the freedom fighters brought out a rally. The rally ended in placing wreathes on the Ganakabar located beside Sheikh Jamal Stadium after circling several roads of the town. They offered special prayers and remained silent for one minute in honor of the martyrs of the Liberation War.
