‘Family discipline must to control teen gangs’

Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Saleh Mohammad Tanvir on Saturday said teenagers must be thought about discipline from family in a bid to prevent their involvement in teen gangs.

“Everyone needs full cooperation to control the teen gang. Parents should be aware and cooperate with police information so that teen gang can be easily controlled,” he said.

The CMP Commissioner was speaking as the chief guest at a function at his office in Dampara on the occasion of Community Policing Day 2020 on Saturday. Commissioner Tanvir called for bringing back the golden days of family and social discipline by stopping the teen gang culture.Referring to the scarcity of playgrounds in the port city, he urged parents to take their children to the playground.  “It will reduce their needless gossip, tendency to commit crimes,” Tavnir added.

The CMP chief urged the city people to stand beside the police and praised community policing, bit policing.

Presided over the event convener of Community Policing Chittagong City Branch and editor of Daily Azadi MA Malek, CMP Additional Commissioner (Crime and Operations) SM Mostaq Ahmed Khan, Additional Commissioner (Traffic) Shyamal Kumar Nath, Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Amir Zafar, Deputy Commissioner (North) Vijay Basak also spoke on the occasion.
