Family members of 50 government staff, who either died or become physically disabled, were given Tk 3.74 crore as grants aimed at mitigating their financial constraints.
Among them, 44 were given Taka eight lakh each, five Taka four lakh each and another one Taka two lakh.
District administration distributed bank cheques of the grants among the family members at its conference hall on THursday.
Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ahmed accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kolyan Chowdhury and Executive Magistrate Sania Binte Afzal handed over the cheques formally.
Shamim Ahmed expected that the financial support will benefit the affected families in terms of mitigating their constraints.
