Fallow land brought under farming in Moulvibazar

Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan said, "Not even an inch of land can be left uncultivated."

The Deputy Commissioner said that the social movement was started from Kulaura to implement Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's directive. In continuation of this, today for the first time, 50 acres of uncultivated land of Gutguti village of Kulaura Sadar Union has been brought under the simultaneous cultivation of Boro paddy. The Prime Minister is encouraging the farmers with various incentives. Therefore, we have to achieve 100% success in agriculture by bringing uncultivated fallow land under cultivation and mechanized production of seedlings, planting seedlings, harvesting paddy. 

He assured to construct a sluice gate to facilitate irrigation in Fanai River in view of farmers' demands. He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the farmer's meeting organized by Kulaura Upazila Administration and Directorate of Agricultural Extension on Monday afternoon at Gutguti area of Kulaura Union of Upazila. Under the chairmanship of Upazila Executive Officer Mahmudur Rahman Khondkar and Agriculture Extension Officer Billal Hossain, Upazila Agriculture Officer Abdul Momin delivered the welcome speech. Deputy Director of District Agriculture Extension Directorate Samchuddin Ahmad, Sadar UP Chairman Mosaddiq Ahmad Noman, Union Awami League Secretary Abdul Aziz, Farmer Rajab Ali spoke as special guests. 

District Agriculture Extension Directorate Additional Deputy Director Nilufar Yasmin, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Mithun Sarkar, Kulaura Press Club President M Shakeel Rashid Chowdhury and other departmental officials and media workers were present. 

Later, Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan inaugurated the mechanized planting program in agricultural land.
