Lohagara Thana police arrested two persons with fake notes of Tk 20 lakh after searching a passenger bus at Lohagara on Chattogram -Cox's Bazar highway. They were arrested from the bus in Chunti area of the upazila on Wednesday.
The arrested are Omar Ali (50) son of deceased Abul Kashem of Kanchana Jotpukuria area of Satkania upazila and Rubel (32) son of Md Belayet of Bhola Daulat Khan Char Para area.
OC of Lohagara police station Muhammad Atiqur Rahman said that fraudsters are smuggling fake money in front of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. On such news, SI Mahfuzur Rahman conducted a bus search in Lohagara area of Chunati Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway with a team of Thana police. During this time fake money worth Tk 20 lakh was recovered from two persons named Omar Ali and Rubel in 20 bundles of 1 thousand taka each. Regular cases have been filed against them.
