Detective Branch (DB) of police in a drive recovered duplicate electronics and cosmetics goods worth about Tk fifty crore from two factories at Shimrail area in Shiddhirganj of Narayanganj on early Thursday.
During the drive, the police also arrested eight staff of the two factories. The arrestees are Obaidul, 28, Shirajul Islam, 18, Sohag, 24, Aminul Islam, 32, Mainul Islam, 32, Mehedi Hasan, 28, Saifful islam, 35.
Police super Harun-or-Rashid briefed the media in this regard on Thursday noon.
On information, police conducted the raid at Max Electro Industries and Moonstar Marketing Private Limited at Shimrail area where they found world-class costly branded television, computers and cosmetics.
Police claimed that owner of the factories Belayet Hossain, an inhabitant of Dhanmondi area in capital, has been manufacturing the duplicate electronics and cosmetics goods and marketing these in name of the world-class brand.
