Members of Detective Branch (DB) of police busted a fake cosmetics factory in Rajshahi city and arrested its owner Friday night.
The arrested, Monsur Amin, 45, son of Ruhul Amin of Laxmipur Bhatapara area under Rajpara Police Station, is also the manufacturer of fake cosmetics,said a press release issued by the DB in Rajshahi Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the DB police conducted a drive in a house in the Bhatapara area of the city around 10:30pm, said Zamirul Islam, additional deputy commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP).
During the drive, the DB team found a large number of fake cosmetics and materials for manufacturing the cosmetics, the RMP official added.
A large number of fake cosmetics worth about Tk 50,000- wrapped in different domestic and foreign company packages-- were seized from the house while conducting the drive. Fourther investigation will be conducted to arrested the criminals and to maintain the skin heath of loclas.
Elite have suggested that more measures to be taken including punishment rates also be extended with new laws in the regard.
