Bogura Police have arrested a feigned Additional Police Super named Abdul Alim for impersonating a police personnel. Police on Thursday night arrested him from Bogura Sadar upazila.
Locals of Bogura Sadar said that the accused Alim formed a relationship with a 17 years old college student from Gokul Union. He on June 18th contacted the girl’s house with marriage proposal and married the girl on the same day. After suspecting the identity of the person, family members of the girl and neighbors called the police. The cops later captured him on Thursday night.
Bogura Sadar Police Station OC (investigation) Abul Kalam Azad said that the accused Alim identified himself as a police officer working at Syedpur upazila. Convincing the victim, he married the girl in June. Locals when his behavior seemed suspecting, informed police. A case was filed at Bogura Sadar Police Station regarding the issue.
Bogura Sadar Upazila Chairman Abu Sufian Shafiq said that no one should get married without confirming proper identification. He later urged parents not to make haste in marriage related issues.
