A human chain programme was held on Islamic University (IU) in Kushtiaon Wednesday demanding fair investigation and justice for mysterious death of Nowrin Nusrat Snigdha.

The ‘Bondhon-32’ batch of the university formed human chain at the feet of the ‘Mrittunjoyee Mujib’ moral on the campus. Shahida Akhtar, chairperson of Law and Land Management department; presided over the human chain while IU Shapla Forum general secretary Prof Dr Mahbubar Rahman was present as the chief discussant.

“Nowrin was a progressive student of the university. She was always soul-hearted against suicide and wrongful activities. We can’t believe that Nowrin is absent in the demonstration for justice. From Nusrat's relatives, we know that her husband locked her in a room, and did not serve any essential things like medicine and others. We urged that the university authority and law enforcement agencies to ensure a fair investigation of Nusrat's death and established the exemplary punishment of criminals”, Dr Mahbubar Rahman said in the human chain.
