Facebook verifies Bangladesh Awami Jubo League page

 Popular social networking site Facebook has verified the official page of the Bangladesh Awami Jubo League.

The verification sign, a blue tick mark, is visible beside the name of the page. The Jubo League also made the announcement in a post on the page.

Over 75,000 people liked the page of the ruling party’s youth wing as of Thursday night. About 85,000 people follow this page.

The organisation posts its activities and press releases on the page apart from highlighting the initiatives taken by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The Jubo League is the first youth organisation of Bangladesh.

Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani, nephew of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, founded this organisation on November 11 in 1972. He was also the founder of the Mujib Bahini, one of the major guerrilla forces of the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971,

 His eldest son Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash is the current Chairman of the organisation while Mainul Hossain Nikhil is the General Secretary.

 Apart from political programmes, the organisation is carrying out different types of humanitarian activities from providing food to giving medical support to people during the pandemic.
