Extortion is going on in front of the administration at Shasnagachha bus stand of Sadar upazila, the entrance of Comilla metropolis.

From the owners and drivers of different vehicles, in the name of the city corporation different amount of money was collected every day through unknown group people.

With the news of extortion being spread through various media, the fundraisers are adopting new techniques of collecting money.

At the Shasnagachha Rail gate, bus stand area of the city, extortionist members were seen using a thick sign pen instead of tokens and drawing some sign on the windshield glass of the vehicles. Influential people are openly extorting money under the banner of state owned organization.

Hundreds of undocumented CNG-powered auto rickshaws were seen plying on the Burichang-Brakshanpara road from Shasnagachha in the city.

The search revealed that those people collect at least Tk 50 per vehicles in the name of district council but no receipt was given to the CNG drivers. Although these undocumented vehicles are plying the roads, the local police administration BRTA is playing a mysteriously silent role.

According to special sources, the BRTA administration is not taking any action on the condition that these vehicles are moving on the roads, even though they are getting monthly payments.

The vehicles are unfit and most of the drivers do not have proper documents.

Meanwhile, reliable sources of the city corporation said that no one has been allowed to collect money from the roads anywhere in the city. Such vehicles drivers sought mayor’s intervention to get ride from such anarchy.
