Export-export activities suspended in Benapole

Import-export trade has been suspended between the two countries through Benapole land port due to lack of internet server in India on Sunday morning.

Meanwhile, thousands of commodity-loaded trucks were stranded for entry into the two-country ports as the import and export activities were halted throughout the day. These products including raw materials of garments, foods, perishable goods, and digestive products. Export products include jute and jute products, readymade garments, fish, etc.

Benapole International Check post Police Immigration Officer in charge Mohsin Khan said the passport passengers traveling is normal even though import and export is closed on this route. From morning till 12 noon, 2,000 passengers have traveled to India.

Abdul Jalil, deputy director (traffic) of Benapole land port, said that earlier the export procedure was done in a manual manner in the Petrapole port of India. Currently the automation system is working online in this port. India's Petrapole port has shut down due to server problems.
