Expats provide food for cyclone Amphan victims in Mongla

Food assistance was provided to the affected families in the Kalatala-Amtala-Jaymoni area of Chila Union in Mongla on Tuesday morning, July 21, funded by the German expatriate organisation Syed Shakil Welfare Trust, Asha Hope for Bangladesh and Alokito Sishu. 

Pashur River Waterkeeper Bapa leader Mohammad Nur Alam Sheikh presided over a short rally held at 11 am on Tuesday while providing food aid on the banks of Pashur river in Kalatala village. Gita Haldar, Maharoof Billah, Sheikh Rafsan, President of Dakshinanchal Seva Sangha, Md. Mamun Abdullah and others spoke at the rally.

Speakers at the gathering expressed their gratitude to the German expatriate Syed Shakil and the leaders of the expatriate organisations for providing food aid to the people of the Sundarbans coast affected by Cyclone Amphan.

A variety of food items, including rice, pulses, potatoes, oil and soap, were provided to more than 50 families affected by Cyclone Amphan, funded by the German Expatriate Association.
