Ex-Sramik League president Shukkur Mahmud passes away

A veteran politician and former president of Bangladesh Sramik League Shukkur Mahmud died of old-age complications at his own residence at Bandar upazila in Narayanganj on early Tuesday. He was 73 years old. Mahmud left behind his wife, a son, four daughters and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of the former president of Jatiya Sramik League.

 In a condolence message, the Prime Minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family. Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, in a message of condolence also expressed deep shock. Political leaders and family sources asserted that he would be buried at Bandar graveyard after three times janaja prayer offered.
Narayanganj-5 constituency law maker Selim Osman, Deputy Commissioner of Narayanganj Mohammad jasimuddin, Jila parishad chairman Anwar Hossain, district Awami League president Abdul Hai, general secretary Abul Hasnat Shaid Badal, and different leaders of Awami League front organization and mass people participated in the first janaja prayer.
