Ex-IGP Hadis Uddin dies of Covid-19

Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Hadis Uddin died of coronavirus on Saturday.

He breathed his last around 12:30pm on Saturday while undergoing treatment at Rajarbag Central Police Hospital in the capital.

AIG Mir Sohel Rana of Police Headquarters (Media and Public Relations) confirmed the matter to the Bangladesh Post.

He left behind his wife, two sons and many relatives and admirers to mourn his death.

Hadis Uddin was born in 1949 at Mendipur village under Khaliajuri Upazila of Netrokona district.

He was an officer of 1973 batch. He served as IG of Bangladesh Police from 6 April, 2005 to 8 May, 2005 with honesty, efficiency and reputation.

His Namaj e Janaza was held at Bashundhara residential area of the capital after Asr prayers. He was buried at Banani graveyard after Janaza.

Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police Benazir Ahmed expressed deep grief over the death of the former IGP.

In a condolence message, IGP Benazir Ahmed said, “Hadis Uddin was an honest and efficient police officer. As an IGP, he served with integrity and dedication.”

IGP prayed for the salvation of the eternal soul of the deceased. He also conveyed his deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
