Ex-BSMMU VC dies

Prof Dr Mohammed Tahir, former Vice Chancellor Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), has passed away. He was 78.  He breathed his last at LabAid Hospital in the capital at about 8:00 am on Monday (October 25, 2010). He had been suffering from old age complications. 

Dr Tahir was buried at his village home at Chhotodesh under Kanaighat upazila in Sylhet after Namaz-e-Janza there at about 8:00 pm (after Esha prayers). BSMMU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Kanak Kanti Barua expressed deep shock at the death for former VC. He conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.  He also recalled contributions of Dr Mohammed Tahir in medical sector.
