A group of former leaders and activists of the university unit Bangladesh Chhatra League wing of the ruling Awami League staged a demonstration on the campus in Kushtia on Wednesday for the third consecutive day demanding the university vice-chancellor Professor Dr Shaikh Abdus Salam’s resignation.

Around thirty ex-BCL leaders and activists of the university demonstrated in front of the administration building for the resignation of the university vice-chancellor and later they had been under lock and key vice-chancellor's office demanding to press home their demands.

They staged the demonstration on the campus as eight audio clips, three with a job seeker of IU's mass communication and journalism department and five others with different ministry officials,  went viral on social media Facebook.

The protesters vowed to continue their demonstration on the campus until their demand was met.

In the audio clip, the vice-chancellor is heard giving a job applicant some advice for the test.

The IU’s acting registrar, HM Ali Hasan, said that they had postponed the tests due to unavoidable reasons. He filed a general diary with the Islamic University police station in this connection on Friday night.
