Chattogram Zilla Parishad's initiative blankets were handed over to the heads of the institutions for distribution among the cold orphans and orphans studying in different religious institutions of Hathazari Upazila
Chattogram Zilla Parishad Chairman and North district Awami League MA Salam handed over the blankets to the heads of the concerned organizations at the Zilla Parishad post bungalow in Chittagong's Hathazari upazila on Tuesday.
MA Salam said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu, has been working tirelessly for the welfare of disadvantaged people. Various public welfare projects are being implemented by Chattogram Zilla Parishad as per the directions of the Prime Minister. In its continuation, blanket distribution program has been taken among the people suffering from cold. He said, "I think if we can distribute these winter clothes among the cold orphans and orphans at this time of winter, their suffering will be alleviated a lot."
Chief Executive Officer of Chattogram Zilla Parishad Shabbir Iqbal, Secretary Md. Didarul Alam, Hathazari Upazila Executive Officer Shahidul Alam, Chattogram North District Awami League Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Alhaj Zafar Ahmed, Union Parishad Chairman Sarwar Morshed Talukder, Former President of Hathazari Upazila Chhatra League Mohammad Azam Uddin, General Secretary of Hathazari Municipality Awami League Master Lokman Chowdhury, Zakir Hossain, Solaiman Saudagar, Akhter Hossain Chowdhury and Tofazzal Hossain Forkan were present during the handing over of blankets.
It may be mentioned that the distribution of blankets among the cold and destitute people of the district during the current winter season was started from last December at the initiative of Chattogram Zilla Parishad.
Blankets were handed over for distribution among students of 48 orphanages and orphanages in Hathazari upazila.
