‘Every child has the right to education’

Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed inaugurated the expansion of Baniashanta sex workers’ children's schools and construction of hostels. 

The minister on Sunday noon inaugurated the expansion of primary schools and construction of hostels for residential education and rehabilitation of children of Baniashanta in Dakop upazila of Khulna district through the Zoom app from his ministry.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the conference room of Khulna Deputy Commissioner. During the inauguration, the Social Welfare Minister said that every child has the right to education. Children are the future of the country and the nation. The government is working to improve the living standards of the backward marginalized people. The government is doing everything to build a safe country, especially for backward children. 

The Minister thanked the Khulna District Administration for this initiative. Special guests on the zoom app were Whip Panchanan Biswas of Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad, reserved women MP Gloria Jharna Sarkar and Director of Khulna Social Services Department Md Abdur Rahman. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Helal Hossain presided over the function organized by Khulna District Administration. Additional Deputy Commissioner Golam Mainuddin Hasan, Deputy Director of Social Services Department Khan Mohammad Motahar Hossain, Executive Director of Private Development Agency Rupantar Swapan Kumar Guha, Former General Secretary of Khulna Press Club Mohammad Saheb Ali and freedom fighter Mohammad Alamgir Kabir spoke on the occasion. Under the management of Khulna district administration, primary school expansion and hostel construction work will be implemented for the residential education and rehabilitation of the children of Baniashanta sex workers’ in Dakop. It will cost about one crore 69 lakh 97 thousand 88 taka.
